Quote: “Rather than a swift redirection of societal priorities – toward energy
conservation, renewable technologies and sustainable farming practices,
instead there’s a continuation and extension of the policies that got us
    here in the first place.”

Absolutely right about “the continuation and extension of the policies that got us here in the first place”. I appreciate so much about what I read on Climate and Capitalism from many of the contributors but, for me, they generally fall short of stating the essence of what is necessary for the state of the world and all its people. It’s like a runner getting within spitting distance of the finish and just falling down. Yes, the capitalist system must go. With it must go the whole market system, the whole monetary system. Wage slavery must be abolished in favour of from each according to ability to each according to need. We need to hear and read this much more . Get out the message what it means to be rid of capitalist policies and that socialism is not a nicer version of capitalism but a radically different system of inclusion. Please spell it out!

The financial elite have created an utterly insane system but because they are financially insulated from the dire consequences of their actions they carry on with them oblivious to the sufferings of others.
