Today, in the Montreal French-language daily Le Devoir, the left-wing NGO Alternatives published a full page call for a broad alliance against extension of the Alberta Tar sands pipeline — Line 9 — into Quebec.
“Massive resistance to the environmentally harmful and irresponsible government policies is developing. To be effective, this resistance must unite its initiatives and opposition, develop common slogans and not hesitate to take to the streets to show its determination. Don’t let the 1% impose their policies: act in the interest of the 99%.”
