This is a victory for mankind, and no small one either. The whole world needs to show its support, so thank you for this opportunity.

Support the indigenous in practical ways.

I was able to tell the Peruvian Ambassador here in London what we thought of his governments action.

The indigenous are winning victories, please support them.

I am all for stopping deforestation. For years it has been happening all over the world. Before oil was the reason to occupy or take over another country, timber was a commodity saught after.Any third world country is considered fair game.
How do we stop this? Greed is a part of human nature, not the best side of humanity for sure, but nonetheless there. All atrosities played out by the media bring to the world the pitfalls of mankind, but what does that do to help us? Most people know it is happening but choose to turn a blind eye .As one person it is impossible to change the world much as I would like that to be the case! It has to be up to our so called world leaders, who it seems are motivated by greed ,or not wanting to dissatisfy the people who voted them in, which relates back to greed(so they keep their jobs). The world needs to focus on global warming which the amazon forest is a huge part of . But how do we change human nature?I would like to make a difference if I can.

Another important point:

The Amazon rainforest is an important component of the carbon sink. That is, the forest takes up carbon as carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis. So cutting down a forest hurts the CO2 cycle "coming and going".

Kudos to the courageous indigenous people - standing up for the human race.
