This is a side of war that few people rarely consider. All over the world there are areas that are still regularly affected by the fallout from wars that happened decades ago. Currently many military groups have intelligence officers to mark areas to be protected such as historic sites. Maybe in the future, they will start including key habitats in that calculation.
