Political level:

1) The REAL democrat is Chavez.

He not only won scores of clean elections. He was EVEN overthrown and reinstalled.
He EVEN installed a referendum mechanism to remove the president. And YES, the opposition tried it (they lost).

2)The REAL world Nobel Prize should be Chavez.

Remember the "Axis of Evil"/total-demonization-followed-by-war times?

Chavez took a plane and made a point of visiting each designated target, to help everyone avoid imperial isolation/demonization.

*THAT* stuff avoid wars.

Economic level:

Capitalism, the Ponzi machine?
Chavez redistribution and nationalizations.

Socialism, the ONLY cure.

Mind level:

Today, capitalism is failing decent folk SO badly, that many are now seeing (at least for a moment)... and even daring to talk.

But when any departure from the "Washington consensus"/capitalism was enough to call you crazy, out of fashion, lunatic, whatever....

...WHO was there?

When the trimphalist (and now apologizing) Fukuyamas of this world declared the "End of History"...

...WHO held open the mind landscape to the ONLY alternative, socialism?

Greetings.

War “Pollution” Equals Millions of Deaths
http://rainbowwarrior2005.wordpress.com/2008/10/09/war-pollution-equals-millions-of-deaths/

Imagine if they spent the trillion on cleaning things up instead of war how much better the planet would be.
Chevez is right. The system must be changed.
He even managed to get Universal Health Care for his people. The US is so far behind it is ridiculous. Seems they can't even manage that, but they can manage a few trillion for wars.
War that pollute every country they go into or selling their deadly weapons to that use them.
War pollution is the worst kind of pollution.

In this speech. Chavez states:

“If the climate was a capitalist bank, the rich governments would have saved it.”

It is the best 'one liner' that I have hear or seen in print about the problem of the environment.

I would argue that capitalism is driven by the affuenza that western countries need to feel whole, a hole in the soul is never filled with "stuff". We in the west don't even have the decency to turn our trash into fuel. We dump trash in Africa, using their poverty and cruel governments, but even more disgusting is how the large drink and textile corperations fig wells. We would rather fuel the war machine. As for Mr. Chavez, he is using what seems to be the way of humans in charge, war.

Mystic55 -- Venezuela has had more elections and referenda since Chavez came to office than any other country in Latin America. In every case there were multiple parties, multiple candidates, and a vigorous debate in the press. It could be argued that it is the most democratic country in the continent!

You may disagree with his policies, but calling him a dictator is absurd.
