In order to combat climate change and at the same time feed the growing world population, which by the way starves without the ability to expand farmland and grow food, is to do just that. We need to pull out all the white liberal progrssives who sit in offices in large urban centers, throw them into 2 1/2 ton trucks and relocate them to large farms where they can be a part of the solution. They will be joining their friends from the EPA and climate change scientific circles, waking up at 4:30 a.m. to milk the cows, clean the stalls, plant the corn, wheat, soybeans and other crops, actually work 14 hour days like the corporate crowd does. Think of all the crops that will consume C02 and replenish the atmosphere with 02, that in a renewable way, feeds the hungry people of the world.

The farms will be given to blacks and hispanics to run as opposed to picking the crops. After all, they have earned that by now in America. That demographic will manage the operations of those vast new farms while the white progessives learn about agriculture and conservation the real way, and not from some socialist book.

The hungry people of the world will be grateful and rejoice that their socialist brothers have walked the walk and manned the farms that feed the world. Think about it; a little less time blogging and a little more time in the fields with hammer and sickle in hand!! What a difference you can make. I suspect the trucks will be rolling on or about 2014…

An excellent and timely analysis. You mention that it is hard to imagine an end to capitalism and I agree with you and it causes paralysis on behalf of many. What would be your proposition for an alternative, how can the 99% be more organized and galvanize against the ruling elite, especially as (the way you and others like David Graeber say) alternatives are rarely imagined.
